Advocacy
At CCEA, we advocate for the issues that matter most to educators — fair pay, safe working conditions, manageable class sizes, and policies that put students and educators first. Whether it’s in district meetings, at the state capitol, or alongside the Colorado Education Association (CEA) and National Education Association (NEA), your voice is amplified.
Legal Assistance
Sometimes, you just need someone in your corner. As a CCEA member, you have access to experienced legal professionals who specialize in education and employment law. Whether you’re facing a formal issue or just need advice, you’re not alone. Your unions CEA, NEA, and CCEA stand with you, with full support and discretion.
Bargaining
Through collective bargaining, CCEA members have a voice at the table to negotiate salaries, benefits, workload, and working conditions. Our bargaining team is made up of Teachers and SSPs just like you, fighting for fair contracts and holding the district accountable. We work not just to react, but to proactively shape the future of our profession with data, transparency, and unity. All members review and approve changes to the agreement every year.
Membership Giveback
Every January, CCEA gives back to our members by reimbursing them for classroom supplies, professional learning, and all those expenses educators incur. We want to support the work you do every day. Whether you’re launching a classroom project or attending a national conference, we want to invest in your ideas. As a member, you’ll have access to funding that empowers your growth.
NEA Member Benefits
Your CCEA membership connects you to the strength of over 3 million educators nationwide through the NEA. Additionally, enjoy access to exclusive savings on travel, insurance, classroom supplies, and more. NEA’s educator-focused benefits are just one more way your membership pays off in and out of school.
Communication
Each week, our members receive communication from the CCEA president. The popular Top 5 newsletter provides a snapshot of important union news, info about the Negotiated Agreement, member-specific resources, and more! Association Representatives (ARs) also receive AR Council reports plus attend AR Council meetings to manage union business, approve our budgets, support elections, and provide critical information and context to our members.
Social Justice Council
Our Social Justice Council leads critical conversations and actions around equity, inclusion, and systemic change in our schools and in our communities. Through advocacy, events, and partnerships, the Social Justice Council works to ensure every student and educator is seen, supported, and safe. As a member, you can get involved and be part of the progress.
Professional Development
We believe great educators are always evolving, and professional learning should be accessible, relevant, and rewarding. That’s why CCEA offers a growing catalog of zero-cost courses developed and taught by fellow educator-members, designed to support meaningful growth and advancement on the salary schedule. These sessions are practical, flexible, and rooted in real experience. Through CEA’s Co-Pilot platform, CCEA members can access additional low-cost courses and graduate credit from Adams State. We also provide mentoring and financial support for teachers pursuing their National Board certification.
Ways to Get Involved
Whether members want to lobby legislators at the state capitol, speak to the Board of Education, become an Association Representative in their building, or serve as a delegate at the NEA Representative Assembly, we have opportunities for members to raise their voices and get involved in the movement to support and protect public education for all students. CEA and NEA also provide opportunities for fellowships and other organizing work so you can get more involved at the state and national level.
Becoming a member of CCEA means joining a community that
has your back, shares your values, and fights for your future.
Let’s build a stronger profession together.
